Physicians Anesthesia Associates participates in a variety of healthcare plans, including those in the following list. If your plan is not on the list, please contact Mary Ellen Cuthie at 410-296-4616 ext 203 to make special arrangements. Although we try to participate in every plan, there are times that we are unable to accommodate. Often if the hospital and the surgeon participate in the plan, the anesthesia is covered as an ancillary service.
Please check with your plan administrator or contact your insurance carrier directly to verify specific details related to your coverage. Please be advised that changes in plans occur frequently.

Many patients receive two separate bills for our services. This is due to an insurance company policy which mandates that we file two claims when services are rendered by a nurse anesthetist (CRNA) supervised by an anesthesiologist (MD). We are required to the split the charges 50/50, therefore two statements will be generated in the same amount due to this mandate. If you should receive two bills from two separate providers from our practice for the same amount this is not a duplicate. Please pay both balances at this represents 100% of our charges. Should you have any questions regarding your statement please contact your representative at the extension located on your statement.
